 Joseph Piontek
Pianist and composer Joseph Piontek is the choral accompanist for Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas, and is the church musician for the congregation of First Baptist Church of Topeka. Before arriving in Kansas, Mr. Piontek resided in Boulder County, Colorado. While there, in addition to completing his Masters degree in Piano Performance at the University of Colorado, he won prizes in international, regional, and local competitions such as the Colorado MTNA Young Artist Competition, and the Boulder International Chamber Music Competition. He also regularly collaborated with musicians of the Colorado Ballet Orchestra and the Boulder Philharmonic. 

While Mr. Piontek’s primary training has been on the piano, his professional life has inspired a love of composition, and he has so far produced works for choirs, bell choirs, and piano. His works have premiered at local festivals and at the 2023 KMEA in-service workshop. 

In his personal life, Mr. Piontek enjoys exercising, finding fun new places to eat, and spending time with his wife and three cats
