CoverCaroling Fantasy [level: Easy]
arr. B. Wayne Bisbee
voicing: SATB or SSA | catalog number: SBMP 1041 | duration: 2:50 | price: $2.50
accompaniment: piano, flute, handbells, perc.
Composer Bisbee has created a festive and clever medley of The First Noel, Sing Nowell, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and Have a Merry Christmas. An aleatoric rendering of the latter greeting leads to the final dramatic phrase: “And a happy new year.” Throughout, a sprightly flute part decorates the melodies; the piano adds great rhythmic and harmonic support; the handbells add elegance with their special ring; and the drum and triangle add rhythmic emphasis and sparkle. The versatile arrangement can be sung by treble choirs and/or by mixed voices. This piece is a great choice for concluding a holiday concert, perhaps with more than one choir combining forces.

CoverLo, How a Rose E’er Blooming [level: Medium]
Allen Koepke
voicing: SATB div. | catalog number: SBMP 1033 | duration: c. 4:00 | price: $1.95
accompaniment: a cappella
This is not your garden variety Lo How a Rose! In eight parts much of the time, it innocently begins, and dramatically ends, with four treble soloists. The main structure of the piece is antiphonal, the men alternating with the women, A stunning arrangement, this would be a fine centerpiece for a Christmas concert.

CoverMake We Joye Now In This Fest [level: Medium]
René Clausen | Matthew and Michael Culloton Choral Series
voicing: SATB | catalog number: SBMP 1049 | duration: 4:50 | price: $1.95
accompaniment: a cappella
Festive and dramatic with great rhythmic drive contrasted by Latin chant-like phases, the piece opens with the text of the title, and at the end builds via a Gloria section to the final utterance of this text. A wonderful opener for a Christmas concert, best sung by a large choir.
