Haec Dies is joyful singing at its best. Brant Adams chooses 6/8 meter for its inherent dance quality, and to that he adds a flowing melodic and harmonic structure. The natural syllabic stress of the Latin is easily realized thanks to the composer's careful attention to text setting, and the overall ABA form makes for ease of teaching and memorization.

Sea Fever

The minor mode colors the excitement of this Hebrew folk song. The two-sentence long text is to be sung in Hebrew. The optional clarinet and bass parts will lend to the drama of this fine arrangement. Easy with much unison; the two-part writing is antiphonal, or melodic for both parts, making the learning of the piece great fun for all. Conservative ranges.

Two German Chorales

Robert Ward: "When I think of music for young voices, I think of essentially conjunct melodic movement, limited vocal range, diatonic harmonic and melodic structure, and a supportive yet independent accompaniment. For this octavo, composer Rebecca te Velde has taken two very singable 16th century German chorales and breathed into them a fresh and vibrant keyboard accompaniment. These two chorales are perfect vehicles for teaching beautiful tone, intense legato singing, and accurate intonation. I have used them with the Stillwater Boys Choir and give them my highest recommendation."
