MATTHEW CULLOTON
Matthew Culloton is the Founding Artistic Director of The Singers - Minnesota Choral Artists based in Minneapolis. He holds degrees from Concordia College (B.M) and the University of Minnesota (M.M. & D.M.A.). Matthew is also Choirmaster at House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. In 2004, Matthew received the MN ACDA Outstanding Young Choral Conductor of the Year Award while Director of Choral Activities at Hopkins High School. He has been commissioned to compose for the Dale Warland Singers, Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester, and the MMEA All-State Choir. He is co-editor of the Matthew and Michael Culloton Choral Series with Santa Barbara Publishing Company.


MICHAEL CULLOTON
Michael Culloton (b. 1976) is on the faculty of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where he conducts the Chapel Choir, Mannerchor, and Cantabile, teaches choral literature to vocal music education students, and advises the student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.  Along with his duties at Concordia, Mr. Culloton is the Artistic Director and conductor of the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Chorale. Previous to this appointment, for eight years he  was the Artistic Director and conductor of Choral Arts Ensemble and Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota, both organizations based in Rochester (MN. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where he studied with Rene Clausen, and his Master of Music degree from the University of Arizona, where he studied with Maurice Skones. Mr. Culloton has nearly completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree through North Dakota State University, where he is studying with Jo Ann Miller and Michael Weber.

Mr. Culloton has taught at Luther College and Winona Senior High School and has also served as the assistant and interim conductor of the National Lutheran Choir. He has held church choir positions in Tucson, AZ and Decorah, IA, and has been music director for nearly a dozen musical theater productions. Along with his twin brother, Mr. Culloton is the co-editor of the Matthew and Michael Culloton Choral Series with Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Inc. In 2006, he was recognized as the MN-ACDA Young Conductor of the Year and also received the ACDA/VocalEssence Creative Programming Award for his work with CAE. In 2009 he was a featured conductor in Never Stop Singing, a documentary about the history of choral music in Minnesota. Mr. Culloton has served as a guest conductor, clinician, and lecturer throughout the region. He lives in the Fargo-Moorhead area with his wife Brynn, who works in the English department at Concordia, and their daughters Eleanor and Miriam.
